On Sunday, June 4, 2023, I will run 13.1 miles in the Covered Bridges Half Marathon and fundraise for The Family Place! For my ambitious goal this year, I am hope to fundraise $100 for every mile!

Since 2016, I have coordinated The Family Place’s team of runners in the Covered Bridges Half Marathon. With several in-person races postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic, I participated virtually for two years and ran in-person in 2022. It was rewarding to do something great for myself while doing something great for others!

Running the in-person 2022 Covered Bridges Half Marathon in support of The Family Place was the perfect way to combine my passions. It was the perfect opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of Upper Valley families that rely on programming at The Family Place to live happier, healthier lives. As an employee of The Family Place, I know the impact of the education, support, and services we offer to the Upper Valley. I am humbled to work with such talented and dedicated folks, who care deeply about the health outcomes of children and families in our community.

This opportunity to run on a non-profit team is a win-win: a win because of what I accomplish physically, and Upper Valley families also win as a result of my running and fundraising. It is a great way to give back through running, and I encourage others to do the same! Running can be a powerful instrument of change: physical change within our own bodies, and social change that makes the world we live in a better place.

We are a team of runners supporting The Family Place in its 37th year of providing education, support and services to Upper Valley children and families.

Our team members have committed to raising at least $500 each by running in the Covered Bridges Half Marathon on Sunday, June 4, 2023!. Money from fundraisers for the Covered Bridges Half Marathon is vital to The Family Place because it isn't earmarked for any specific program; instead, it can be applied to wherever the need is greatest in our organization. It's only with the support of our generous community that we can provide continuous, comprehensive services and support to all families with young children.
